My husband and I recently had the privilege of traveling to Barbados. And what a lovely experience it was! In the words of Kylie Morrow, “The beautiful country boasts of spectacular natural scenes, an authentic culture and plenty of things to do with both friends and family on vacation.”
As with most Caribbean islands, Barbados is adorned with tropical weather year around. It’s a prime location for explorations. With at least 60 beaches and 70 miles of sand, Barbados is truly breathtaking. From the balcony of our hotel, we were able to experience the magnificence of Barbados’ pristine white sand beaches and calm cool waters within walking distance. In addition, Barbados’ St. Nicholas Abbey, the George Washington House, or Bridgetown’s colonial architecture are all cultural landmarks and reminders of its rich history.
The people of Barbados are filled with rich culture and pride for their homeland. Referring to themselves as Bajans, they are full of charisma, tenacity, and an energetic spirit. We were able to experience a part of the Bajan dignity through Barbados’ rich array of topnotch cuisine. From local gems to five- star culinary dining of our resort, Barbadian cuisine is filled with fresh seafood, local flavors, seasonal fruit, and the flare of Caribbean cuisine. It’s national dish, fried flying fish and cou-cou is a must have! Cooked in a creole sauce of stewed tomatoes, spices and stock, the flying fish is served with fine cornmeal and okra dish– Cou Cou.
Barbados is truly a unique and wonderful country! But don’t take my word for it! Book your trip to Barbados today and you too can experience its’ magnificent wonders!
